I think we've been to Jaker's every year since Addie was a baby and we've continued this tradition on. Sometimes we invite some cousins to join us and some years we go alone. This year we went alone and it was fun but it was also freezing. We spent the perfect amount of time there where the kids were able to do everything they wanted and also didn't fuss when it was time to convince them to leave. Maybe going when they're cold isn't such a bad idea haha. Addie did argue a little about not wanting to leave but eventually she even realized she wanted to get warm so followed us to the car. This is a tradition that I love keeping up because I have a feeling we won't be living in Utah forever so I'd like to keep bringing the kids here while we're still living near and they really do love it. Even if some years are more crowded or cold than others.
Hudson will only go down a slide if he's first gone down on a lap. After that initial one he's brave enough to do it by himself. |
This year we also did our first ever haunted gingerbread house. It turned out pretty cute and the kids had a lot of fun. We did it one afternoon while Danny was still at school and the kids were pretty excited to show him our creation.
Addie has also been learning about the leaves changing colors at school so we thought it would be fun to find leaves with different colors and put them in order. We did this during one of our walks and Addie loved it. She's just like me and loves organizing things in certain order so this activity was right up her ally.
Danny also took Addie on a walk one morning with his siblings Jill and Rand with their kids and she also had a lot of fun doing that. I stayed behind with the boys so they could still get their naps in and it would be an easier outing with Danny to just have one child.
