Family Hidden Gem Part Two

Jill saw some pictures I had posted from our May outing and wanted to know what trail we were on. So we decided to go again a within the same week and showed one of our favorite places to Jill and Georgia. The kids love any excuse to get out of the house these days and to have it be to one of their favorite places with one of their favorite cousins made for a nice outing. There's a pond with ducks and turtles near the entrance of our hidden trail that we spend some time at before going on a walk which the kids really enjoyed. We made sure to make a stop there as well on the way back before holding home.

Food Challenge

There is an internet sensation going on right now called the food challenge. It's where you put some tempting food (usually candy) in front of your child and then tell your kid to not touch or eat the food until you step back into the room. Then you leave the child with the temptation and secretly record their reaction to see if they pass this patience test or not. Well I did it on both of the boys. By the time I was done with theirs Addie had already seen me do it and knew that they were being recorded or I would have tried doing the test with her as well. One boy passed. One boy did not. Both were adorable.

Some of my favorite screen shots from both videos.

May Outing - Family Hidden Gem

Another month and the only activity allowed these days. It's a good thing our family really enjoys these nature walks. We also really love coming to this location. It's right on BYU campus and it's somewhat of a hidden gem. It's really beautiful and has seven or eight little waterfalls all along the trail. We're really lucky to live so close to this beauty of a place.

Mother's Day 2020

The plan was to have a quiet Mother's Day at home with a family movie night in the evening; however when Danny's mom called us around noon and invited us over for dinner our plans changed a lot. We initially weren't going to go but then heard that Grandma Great (Colleen) would be there and it has been many months since we've seen her so we decided to ditch the plans we had (which other than staying home we didn't really have any) and headed to Mapleton. The kids were excited to go back and play with wild salamanders again and were excited to go. The only thing I really cared about for this Mother's Day was my little Mother's Day video from the kids and Danny made sure I got that. We want to turn it into a little tradition, although we didn't do it last year because Danny was in Vanuatu. Not only did he make sure to get it done this year but Addie even made it extra special by also filming a little video of Danny. Sometimes our days don't go as we planned or even our year as this year is definitely teaching everyone but in the end I know the only thing that matters are the people I get to surround myself with everyday. I love my family. They can sometimes drive me straight crazy. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. But I also would be so lost without them. I'm forever grateful they are all mine and because of them today was a great day.
