Grant's Baby Blessing

Baby Bean was blessed by his daddy today! Two things happened that needs to be documented. He had two firsts happen out of all my kids. First - he is my first kid to cry during the blessing. He didn't even cry for a little bit of it, he cried through the whole prayer. From opening to closing. At least it was a soft cry. I was impressed that Danny continued on with the blessing as if Grant wasn't making any noise at all. Once the circle dispersed he was back to being his calm self. He rarely ever cries but when he does it's usually because he's hot and I can imagine that circle he was in was feeling pretty warm. The second first that happened with him that I'm quite happy about is that he is also my first kid to NOT have a diaper blowout in his blessing outfit. Both Addie and Hudson did so I was mentally prepared for it to happen again. We also did take some extra precautions today though by sizing up his diaper to a size two (which wasn't needed but we were ready anyway).

Bean we love you and the peace that you have brought into our lives.
* In his circle: Daddy, Grandpa Ferguson, Grandpa Rueckert, Uncle Sam, Jackson and the Bishopric.

Addie's Zoo Day

With Addie's birthday being on a Sunday this year we wanted to do something extra special for the day before. We had planned on a zoo day and we decided to invite her aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of the family. We had a good turnout who came to celebrate with us. From the Ferguson side we had Jill, Georgia, Ashley, Jacob, Brooklyn and Jayden. From the Rueckert side we had Sam, Kari, Serenity, Pollyanna and Aria. Addie enjoyed having cousins from both sides with her and it was a perfect zoo day as most of the animals were out and active. Hudson really enjoyed the lions and Grant mostly slept through everything.

One Hundred

Just as I did for Addie I have been keeping track of Hudson's vocabulary. Addie was a talker and reached 100 words at 18.5 months. Hudson is more of an observer but he also hit that milestone recently at 21 months old. Here's his list of his first 100 words. :)

Mama, Dada, Baba (bottle), Yay, Stop, Uh Oh, Love You, Night Night, Bye, Hi, All Done, Go, No, Addie, Ball, Want Out, Book, Doggy, Bite, Help, Wow, Why, Eye, Weeeeee, Mine, Yeah, More, BeeBee (binky), Where it go?, Amen, Roar, I Don't Know, Bubbles, Choo Choo, Jill, Georgia, Stinky, Shoes, Socks, Come Back, Thank You, Garbage, Round And Round, Beep Beep Beep, Kitty, Meow, Cheese, Bird, Got It, Get Off, Please, Potty, Woof Woof, Moo, Bath, Slide, Broke, Boot, Wii U, Moon, Baby, Blueberry, Banana, Balloon, Gecko, Wipe, Rubble, Sky, Car, Tired, Sticker, Fall, Cereal, Strawberry, Ear, Mouth, Toes, Nose, Remote, Spoon, You're Welcome, Sorry, Outside, Open, Plane, Star, Grape, Light, Run, Heavy, Missed, Bed, Room, Spit, Wet, Super Dry, Rock, Big, Tablet, Boom Baby

I love that he says Boom Baby haha. It's off of Disney's Emperor's New Groove and it's currently one of their favorite movies right now so we watch it a couple times a week. It's pretty cute when he says it.

Cool fact (cool for me at least) both Addie and Hudson learned to say Mama before Dada. It's cool to me because I hear that it's common for kids to learn Dada first since it's an easier word. Plus I'm obviously going to think it's cool because I am the mama. :)

Scales and Tails

My cousin Allen had extra tickets and invited us to Scales and Tails. It's a reptile exhibit in Salt Lake and I was feeling brave to take all three kids with me on the hour drive there. Grant is not a fan of his car seat these days so he didn't do so well for the drive but did great once there. Both of the older kids loved the experience. They are both fearless and touched every snake and spider they could get their hands on. I kept my distance without revealing to my kids that all creepy crawly and slithering thing terrifies me so I'm even surprised I took them there but it was so great for them. We'll have to go back one day with Danny when we get some free time in the future.
Hudson kept coming back to the tortoises.
