We saw Santa today! Danny came home from work and stayed home while the babies napped and I took off with Addie, Hudson and Grant. We met Jill, Georgia and Max there. I'm so glad the weather was perfect because when we first planned this the weather showed snow in the forecast. Instead it didn't even feel cold. I over prepared and had the kids take their winter coats but they all could have easily stayed comfortable in just some sweaters. Even Santa took off his coat and hat. Oh well, I'd rather over prepare than under prepare.
I love that we come to the same place every year. We've always seen the best Santa. We picked a great night to see him because it felt like we were the only ones there. There was one little boy in front of us who mostly only spoke Spanish and this Santa started replying back in Spanish. It was so heartwarming to watch. He's the real deal. Because of covid restrictions we couldn't get too close to Santa but the kids didn't seem to mind. Addie asked for a toy butterfly which I knew she would. She's really loving all animals lately and has really taken an interest in butterflies. Both of the boys gave answers I wasn't expecting prior to today. Hudson asked for a binder (even though he just got one for his birthday last week) and Grant asked for goggles. I guess it doesn't take much to please those two.
Georgia then came in our car on the way home while Hudson went in Jill's car to go late birthday shopping. Marie met up with them and was able to take notes of everything Hudson was taking an interest in. He's been the hardest to Christmas shop for because he says he doesn't want anything. Thankfully now we have some fresh ideas after his little shopping trip.
