We're ending the year in a big way! On wheels! I am so proud of Hudson boy and Addie Rae. Hudson has been scared of riding two wheels for about a year now. We tried to get him to learn when Addie had first learned but after one fall he didn't have much interest in continuing forward with it. He didn't even try for the longest time. Addie had learned in Utah and that feels like forever ago now. Hudson's little buddy from school came over two days ago for the first time and we give him all the credit in encouraging Hudson on trying. When Hudson saw that he could ride without training wheels a light clicked on for him and he decided that if his friend could do it then so could he and that was that. He got in some practice that day and then yesterday we were at Sea World but today was when he really took off and is now a full time two wheel riding bike boy. I'm so proud of him because of how fearful I know he used to be. My favorite thing though is seeing how proud he is of himself over this. I love it.
Addie has also come in leaps and bounds with her skates. She got them for Christmas and is doing so well with them. She doesn't have any knee pads or elbow pads but she's come up with her own creative solution on how to best break any falls. She rides while holding her shoes in her hands and then if she falls at all she puts her hands down and uses her shoes to catch herself. It's kind of genius.
Grant is now showing some interest in learning himself but he's so small and can't quite reach the pedals. We need to look around for a smaller bike for him. It's been a fun time over here. It really makes us appreciate this snowless weather even more.
And little Quinnie from yesterday.
