Not too many pictures from tonight but it was definitely one to remember. It felt amazing to walk around tonight in just a t shirt and still feel warm. Utah is so unpredictable weather wise that many years you can't even see the costumes very well because the kids are usually bundled up. Here it was cool to see everyone clearly in their costumes. This neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. There are more houses that are decorated than those that are not. Our favorite house was the Harry Potter house. I got a short video of it as inspiration for hopefully our future Halloweens. We'd love to be at a point in life where we can splurge on outdoor decorations. The streets were so full of kids. It reminded me of how movies depict Halloween nights and even back to how it was when I myself was a kid. Our past couple of houses in Utah have been in primarily older neighborhoods where the number of kids are on the few side so the kids haven't really experienced crowded streets until this year. It was a lot of fun. It makes me really hope that we're still here a year from now. Our neighbors say that people drive here to Avery Park because of how into it this neighborhood gets and after tonight I believe it. Happy Halloween from this Toy Story crew!

Pumpkin Carving
Halloween is tomorrow and we haven't done much of our usual fall activities. We always go to Jaker's pumpkin patch, we always have family halloween parties and I think I've been in a weird funk knowing that we aren't doing our usual traditions. So yesterday while at the store I decided we were going to carve pumpkins this weekend. I wanted to do something Halloween-y and so I told the kids to grab their own pumpkin to take home. It's actually been a couple of years since we've actually carved pumpkins (we usually just let the kids paint them) but it was a lot of fun. Addie is old enough to design and carve her very own so Danny and I just needed to help the boys with theirs. It was nice to work side by side as the babies napped. Addie carved out the words 'Trick or Treat' and drew a cat on the other side of her pumpkin. Hudson chose an owl design that I helped him with while Danny helped Grant with his 'Trick or Treat' pumpkin. Grant even made his dad add a little Noah on the bottom. It's been a great day.

Grant & Noah
Grant had a playdate with his best little buddy Noah today. This has been a playdate that his mom and I have been trying to set up for awhile but because of sick kids we kept having to push it but today it finally happened and it was so much fun. Addie and Hudson also joined us along with Grant's little sister and I thought we'd spend an hour or two at the park but we were there for over four hours. It really was a good time. His mom and I have just clicked since our boys have started going to preschool together and I already feel like we could become really close friends during our time here in Texas. Grant is very obsessed with Noah and loves that he has a best friend. I'm so glad that we were able to meet up outside of school and get these kids together.

2022 Family Halloween Theme
I can't believe we've done ten years of family themed costumes. I can't believe it. And I love it. I'm so happy the kids get into it. Hudson is planning our theme for next year and I've already bought them something they can play with that goes along with it (hint hint: wands). This year was kind of focused around the twin's costume. Originally I was thinking we'd do Mary Poppins but I didn't get enough votes and once I found the slinky dog costume I knew I had to let go of the Mary Poppins theme idea because this was way better. 😁 All of the kids turned out so cute. I love this crazy bunch of mine. Happy almost Halloween!
