2024 Goals Recap

I wanted to be more grateful in 2024. Grateful for what we had and for where we were in life. I didn't want to feel like I was missing out on the phase I was currently in by worrying about the phase to come. I'm sure I still worried here or there but I can also say that I'm proud with how we spent our time in Texas, and I'm proud of how we've embraced this change so far in North Dakota. I'm actually really hoping for a frigid rough winter because I want to fully experience what Fargo can be about. It also helps that deep down I don't think Fargo is the place we're meant to be long term so for however long this 'phase' is I want to truly be present in it. Looking back at my personal goals is always interesting because even though I can end the year feeling good overall, when I break it down and look at each one I can definitely see room for improvement. I'll have to keep this in mind as I make my 2025 goals.

2024 GOALS RECAP
SPIRITUAL

-   Read The Book of Mormon along with Come Follow Me - I did not complete this, and I have no excuse. I did finish it in 2023 if that counts for something haha.
-       Plan FHE weekly - I didn't do super great, but I also didn't do super bad either. I think we got 2-3 weeks each month, so a little over half the time. So I'm kind of proud of us but also aware that we could do better.

SOCIAL

-       Host a book club night - Nope. I never did host during the first six months of the year and then we moved out of Texas where I then stopped thinking about hosting one altogether. I have since joined a bunco group though here in Fargo which has been great for me socially as I get to know a lot of the women here in this area.
-       Plan date nights with Danny - I'll be honest I'm not really sure why I had this as a goal in the first place. It's incredibly hard to have date nights when we do not live by family and would have to pay someone to watch our five kids. It's not really our season of life, I guess. We did have lunch dates although I'm not sure how much those count since we had the twins with us every time.

INTELLECTUAL

-       Read 30 books this year - Yes! Finally a goal that I confidently say I did great at. I finished 89 books.
-       Have a 365 day streak practicing Portuguese on Duolingo - I reached the 365 day streak back in February and finished off the year with a streak of 674 days.

PHYSICAL

-       Eat a healthy meal every day - I'm not sure if I can say that I ate a healthy meal every day but it was pretty close. Although the credit for that should really go to Danny who generally eats pretty healthy already.
-       Lose ten pounds - I did not lose ten pounds for most of the year even though I was eating healthy, intermittent fasting and regularly exercising. I finally talked to my doctor about this in November and with some help in getting my body back to working with me instead of against me I can say that I did finally lose ten pounds in my first month since seeing my doctor. I actually am feeling very excited about finally seeing some changes from my efforts. If I repeat any of my goals for the new year it will be in this area again. I feel like I'm finally gaining momentum with seeing results and reaching my overall goal.
