Primary Program

Yesterday was a milestone primary program for our family. It was the first and only program that all five kids would be in at the same time. It was Addie's last primary program before she graduates primary and heads into Young Women's and it was the twins' first primary program since they were in nursery just a year ago. It was also my first time being in charge of a primary program and it was Danny's first time being given the role of our host in charge of the after primary program party. :)

I'm proud of how it turned out and feel like I can breathe a little bit better now. The kids did awesome and they sounded great. Their best song was probably the last one which was My Own Sacred Grove. It might be my current favorite as well.

For months I've been planning an activity for after the program. I knew that I wanted to do something fun with the kids so I came up with the Fargo Primary Games. We invited the bishopric to compete against the primary in a trivia game. We had a spinner, buzzers and trivia questions in four different categories (random primary trivia, primary program trivia, fill in the blank and name that tune). We also shared comments and compliments from the ward congregation which worked out with having the fun part but also spiritual moments sprinkled throughout. I doubt we will be here next year for a second primary program but if we are we'll have to do this again because the teachers and kids all really enjoyed it. The primary programs over the years has always been my favorite Sundays and I was a little sad when I realized that I wouldn't be watching from the seats but being able to witness firsthand how hard these kids worked behind the scenes makes me feel so proud of all of them and all the primary kids in our ward. I'm starting to really enjoy this calling.

Also I cannot believe that even knowing this would be our first and last primary program with all five I still didn't get a single picture of the kids like I always do on our primary program Sundays.

Sunbeams!

My last two to become sunbeams! I've also been looking forward to this milestone for a couple years now because I realized that their first year in primary would be Addie's last year in primary. It feels surreal to have all five of my kids in there together. This year's primary program is going to be my favorite yet. 😍

And right after I just typed this last sentence I realized that I will be watching the program from the stand because I just got called to be the sunbeams teacher, which is okay. I actually love being with them at church. I wouldn't even mind if I can just follow my last babies every year haha. I'm not sure how much they would love that but for right now they really like it because they're not too sure about being in big kid primary. When Danny asked the girls how they liked being sunbeams Quinn pointed out how they didn't have any toys to play with haha. It's always a tough transition but I'm excited to help them out.

Danny happened to pass by while I was taking some pictures of Quinn and joined her.
She was pretty happy about that. She's a big time daddy's girl.
Rylee's current 'cheese' face with her head tilted back and eyes closed cracks me up every time.

Preschool

It's a big day around here. Not only is it Hudson's eighth birthday but it's also Rylee and Quinn's first day of preschool. It's bittersweet. 😢 For the first time ever I will have all five of my kids in school. Thankfully for me this preschool will be only until the end of the month. It's three weeks long at the local high school ran by students who are in a child development class. So it's not an official year long preschool but more like they get to dip their toes into what actual preschool would be like. Which is great for me because I am not ready for them to not be home with me anymore.

They have their own lockers with their names on it. I can't believe they're this old.
I definitely cried in the car for a good ten minutes before I finally left the parking lot.
They both said they had so much fun when I did pick them up again. 💜

Second Tooth

Just days after loosing his first tooth he's already lost a second one. It came out in the bath last night when he was sucking on a washcloth haha. He loves that he can stick his tongue out through his teeth where two are now missing. He's also now lost the same amount of teeth that Hudson has. 😁

North Dakota State University

It's official! Looks like we're trading brutal summers for brutal winters. Honestly we have loved our time here in Texas and would love to return, but we're excited for this new adventure.

From Bobcats to Bison.

Potty Trained!

Big girl status over here times two! After nearly ten STRAIGHT years of changing diapers we are finally getting out of this stage. We haven't had a break since 2014 with little ones overlapping each time new babies joined our family. This is a milestone that I will not miss as these last two are officially potty trained! Danny did the math and over these years we have spent over $10,000 on diapers and wipes. Glad this phase is over.

Peace out diapers! ✌
