I was listening to a podcast while washing the dishes after dinner tonight when I got a video call from my biological mom Rose. We've never talked on video before and I freaked out when I realized that instead of muting the call I had actually answered it. I was instantly and extremely nervous. I took the call to the basement where we had a conversation that actually went better than I thought. I was nervous but a lot of that anxiety went away as we got into a groove of talking. She informed me that Anderson is now a father to identical twin girls which is awesome. They were in the hospital but were doing great. I know everyone says that technically identical twins don't run in your family but how crazy that my biological mom is an identical twin girl and two of her three biological kids also had identical twin girls. Rose's third child Deise says she'll never have kids because she's scared of being three out of three to have twin girls. I believe it's a crazy coincidence but it's still pretty cool. I faced a fear I wasn't even aware I had when I had to accept that call and it turned out just fine. Hopefully next time I'm a little better prepared though. 😅

Be kind. Be bold. Be brave. Be you.
I'm already looking forward to their first holiday off again. Lucky me that's on Monday for Labor Day.

Centennial Elementary
We got to see the kids' school for the first time last night. Their first official day is tomorrow. The thing they might be most excited about is that they all get to have lockers. Even I thought that was pretty cool until I learned it's because they need the storage for all their snow gear haha. This winter should be very interesting. Addie's teacher this year is Ms. Jensrud. She's so excited for her class this year. Apparently there are no typical class seatings like you'll usually see with desks lined up. Instead every Monday the kids get to choose where they will be sitting and their choices range from a rocking chair, to a high stool, to a bench and to couches. It's all very random and very comfortable looking. I'm interested to hear how that turns out with some students but Addie couldn't be more excited for it. Hudson's teacher is Mrs. Cromwell and Grant has Mrs. Linstaedt. Their classrooms are right next door to each other which is pretty cool. All three teachers seem to be very nice and welcoming which brings comfort to this mama heart. I can't believe that just like that the summer is coming to an end. It's going to be weird having them gone but I love that they are at least excited about it.

Month of Parks
A new friend told me that the Fargo/Moorhead area has more than 150 parks. We've noticed that there were a lot but had no idea there were this many. We've been having fun exploring them. These are only the ones we've done in August. We explored three others in July.
Aug 3rd Dakota Park
Aug 6th Wildflower Grove Park
Aug 7th Botanical Garden
Aug 13th Lindenwood Park
