Detroit Lakes

Today the kids didn't have school with it being Labor Day so after we found the Oscar Mayer mobile we grabbed some lunch for a picnic and headed to Detroit Lakes in Minnesota where we had heard of some giant trolls we can hunt. I don't know what I pictured Detroit Lakes to look like but it was even better than I could have imagined. We regret not exploring this place sooner because it would be perfect for a nice warm day. We only had time for two trolls so I'm looking forward to returning and finding them all. They're kind of spaced out and you have to drive to each location so I'd like to dedicate a whole afternoon for troll hunting when we get the chance. They also have it set up as an adventure story where each one gives you a clue to the sixth and final giant troll which is actually a golden rabbit. We'll definitely be back when time is on our side. With it being a very windy day the kids really wanted to find time to fly our new kites so that's how we ended our day. It was a nice day overall with the prettiest orange sky to end it.

Picnic and playtime at the park.

We have now seen several bald eagles since moving here but each time is just as awesome.
It seems like every day is a windy day here in Fargo. That's actually why I hear the winters are so miserable because the wind makes it worse. We took advantage of it today and were able to get our three kites all high in the air.
