Best Surprise Ever

He was never an OOPS baby but he was a surprise. And the best one at that.

Mini Me

Grant is the boy version of baby Addie and they both are little versions of myself. I love it so much. Being adopted I find joy in seeing family resemblances since it's something I didn't get to grow up with. Hudson is still his daddy's little twin and I think it's going to stay that way for awhile.

17th Grade!

Along with today being Addie's first day of Preschool, it was also Danny's first day of his BYU Grad school program! Poor guy barely slept as well but it was not because of his own excitement. It was all because of Addie Rae and her excitement. Like I previously said it was rough. Anyway it was all well by the end of the day and we all made it through it. Addie said that I needed to make Danny a sign as well saying it was his first day of school. I failed by not making a sign but I made him take some pictures anyway. :)

Happy First Day of 17th Grade!
He's trying to make a 17 with his hands.

First Day of Pre K!

Addie is a pre schooler! She goes to Discovery School and I really hope she loves it. She was so excited for this morning to come. In fact she barely slept at all. It was a rough night in our household. She was so excited and anxious for school that she just would not sleep. She went to bed but then woke up after midnight and stayed awake until 4am. She had to be up at 7:30am to make sure she could be ready and at school by 9am. She ate breakfast and got dressed and was ready to go by 7:50am so we had a whole hour to wait before school started. She came home happy and excited that she'll be going back on Thursday. I'm glad she liked it and I hope that she continues to love it as the year goes on and the newness of it wears off. I also hope that she'll learn to sleep the night before whatever day she's excited about because as her parents it's hard not to get frustrated with the lack of sleep. Addie Rae I love you and I love that you were so excited for this new milestone.

Last Week of Summer Break

This last weekend officially ended our summer break and both Danny and Addie are starting school this week. We have been wanting to take our kids to Bridal Falls and we finally did that. It was so nice to get out of the house and the kids enjoyed it. Surprisingly with the breeze it got kind of cold. The kids both wanted to get in the water but the water itself was freezing so Addie barely stuck her feet in before changing her mind. Hudson, however, didn't mind the cold water at all. Nothing stopped him from playing in it even though Danny and I tried to talk him out of it. We eventually had to force him out and he wasn't too happy about that at first but that water was way too cold to have our kids in it. Grant of course slept through the whole outing.
We also went to my family's traditional cabin Labor Day weekend in Heber Valley. Usually we go up for the day but make it back home to sleep in our own beds. We didn't do that this year. We decided to spend the night with our three year old, one year old and one month old and we survived! It actually went better than we anticipated. It was nice to unplug and just enjoy ourselves with family in the mountains. All three kids did amazing the whole time we were up there. I'm really glad we decided to stay overnight especially since I'm not sure this tradition will continue. Next year instead of renting out these cabins like we have done every year since I was 15 years old, we are doing a big family vacation in Bear Lake. It's pretty exciting and I'm looking forward to it.

He fell and I had to get a picture haha. Don't worry I helped him after.
We had this whole cabin to ourselves.
The one picture she let me take and it's of the back of her head. Oh well.
