Huddy buddy I hope you had the best day. Today was the first day back from Thanksgiving break and he was pretty excited. He was able to open one gift before school this morning and was excited to see it was a lego car set. He's been making his own race cars lately so we thought he might like an actual lego race car.
First morning as an eight yr old.
It's tradition for his birthday presents to be under the Christmas tree.
It's a small way to help his December birthday feel a little extra special.
He's in a big lego phase right now. 😊
After they left for school I got Rylee and Quinn ready for their first day of preschool and with my time by myself for the first time ever I spent it looking through hundreds of pictures of Hudson. I probably say this every year or milestone but I can't believe my babies are all growing up.
Once the twins were done with school we made a stop at Costco and grabbed him a personalized cheesecake. He had asked for banana brownies but the kids ate all the bananas needed to make it so while at Costco I bought new bananas that will hopefully be ready for baking this weekend when my parents get here and we can do a second 'cake' for him. Since he has never been a fan of chocolate cake I knew a cheesecake would do just fine.
As soon as Danny came home from work and the big kids came home from school we packed up in the car and headed to the Fargo Sports Center. It's literally across the highway from our house and we see it everyday from our front door. The kids got to go in for the first time and we were able to spend Hudson's birthday doing his favorite things, sports. We rented out a turf field and played soccer, football, and also ran laps on the track. It was so fun. Our only regret was not bringing more balls to play with because both Addie and Quinn had a moment where they both had separate periods of not wanting to share the soccer ball, but aside from those brief meltdowns we had a blast.
We had the whole field to ourselves.
Our view from the track that the twins and I ran before joining them again.
After leaving the sports center we grabbed his birthday dinner choice (Sonic) and headed home where we ate and then opened the rest of his presents up.
Another lego set.
So many new Pokemon cards.
Books from Oma
Cake and ice cream time.
He wasted no time trying to get his lego sets completed and was able to do one of them before bedtime.
I love that he sleeps with his Santa hat on. Goodnight Hudson Boy. Happy birthday to you.
