Three-Rex

Hudson boy is now three years old. He's seriously so fun and such a goofball. If he knows that there's something that will make you laugh he's sure to do it. He's always looking to make others laugh but the best laugh is actually his. He has the cutest giggle and I can't get enough of him.

This year his birthday theme was ThreeRex. He has always loved dinosaurs and honestly his birthday theme for his second birthday would have easily been dinosaur related if it weren't for the fact that it was his golden birthday. That's why I went with a "Gold" theme but we're now at a year later and he's still into dinosaurs so this theme was super easy. He can name quite a few different ones which is pretty cute. Addie still holds the record for how many different dinosaur names they know at this age but Hudson still surprises us with some of the ones he knows. Like I didn't know he knew what a Diplodocus was but he does.

His birthday is today which is a Monday but we celebrated yesterday on Sunday. It has kind of turned into a little tradition to have Hudson wake up to his presents underneath the Christmas tree. I know December birthdays can be kind of hard for some people and we want Hudson to still feel special with his December birthday and we think this might be a fun way for him to grow up and still think that sharing his birthday month with Christmas can be awesome. We'll also make sure that his presents will be wrapped in birthday paper and not in any type of Christmas paper. I know for his first birthday we weren't able to use birthday wrapping paper but I made sure that this year I didn't do that again. He was so excited to see his presents and that he was able to open the gifts from us a day early. We decided to go ahead and celebrate it yesterday morning before his birthday party that night with everyone else.
He asked me to take this picture of him while at church.
He had quite the support at his party from my parents and almost Danny's whole family. Hudson wasted no time in opening his gifts. He sped through ripping the wrapping paper open and pulling tissue paper out just to get a peak at what his gift even was and then moved onto the next gift doing the same thing over. He opened every gift in under two minutes and there were a lot of gifts. He liked the actual motion of opening them haha. We then had to point out all the gifts that were now laying there for him. Something tells me that he might have a hard time on Christmas morning if he has to wait his turn between us and his siblings to open each of his gifts from under the tree. He's going to be so eager just to get his hands on the next box. Everyone thought he was adorable though and eventually he did play with everything he got. He's a funny kid and we're so glad he's in our family.

These next two pictures are of Hudson and Addie enjoying his new bike that he got from Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson. It's safe to say that Addie really approves of this gift and might even wish it was hers. Good thing Hudson is really good at sharing.
One year's difference but in both pics this sweet boy is in need of a haircut. 😁

First Dentist Trip and No Cavities

Hudson had his very first dentist checkup today. He was nervous and it didn't help that Addie was also very nervous because she hates the dentist and also had a cleaning for today. We let them both bring a comfort animal which I think they were grateful for. We decided to have Hudson go first so that he could show Addie how to be brave and it worked. He did great for his very first time. His bravery rubbed off on Addie and near the end of the visit she actually did better than he did. Hudson did get restless and decided that it wasn't fun at all near the end of his cleaning but overall we're happy with how it went. Both kids have zero cavities which is awesome to hear.

Frozen 2

Addie's four year old cousin Georgia has been planning a girls date since at least July for all of us girls to watch Frozen 2 in the theaters. She wanted Addie, myself, her, her mom, Brooklyn and Ashley to all be invited. The day finally came and Addie got to go to her first girl's date. Jill also had two extra tickets so Georgia allowed Jaina and Jackson to join us. She's pretty funny with how she actually did plan this day for all of us at only four years old. This was Addie's third movie and she did so great. She has seen The Incredibles 2, The Grinch, and now Frozen 2 at the movie theater. She saw a preview for Sonic the Hedgehog which she has never even known about before and now she keeps talking about it. I think she talks more about that preview then she actually does about the movie we saw which is saying something before she actually liked Frozen a lot. I can't wait for the boys to be able to watch this with us once it's out.

Setting Up Christmas

Yes I know, we haven't had Thanksgiving yet. That's still a week away. But today the urge to set up Christmas already was so strong I did not fight it. I took the kids to the store where we bought new decor and I was planning on waiting until after Thanksgiving but Addie and Hudson both wanted to set it up right away and to be honest I was only going to wait because of other people but since all of us wanted to do it I saw no reason in waiting. Danny was really surprised when he came home tonight and saw our Christmas tree up. He was surprised but not disappointed, He was completely okay with it and that's just one more reason why I love him. He then helped us finish up by putting the ornaments on the tree. Christmas might not be for another 32 days but everyone here is already excited for it.

Halloween 2019

This year Addie had her first ever school Halloween party. She chose to be a unicorn and she was the cutest. She was debating on leaving the house as either Owlette, a tiger or a unicorn and eventually chose the last one. Although we do themed costumes every year that does not mean that they can't change their mind or can't have a decision when it comes to what they wear for trick or treating. I've always let them choose whatever they want to be for actual Halloween night. They have so many options with all of the costumes and play clothes that we own that they usually change their mind up to three times on the evening of. I actually love seeing what it is that they decide to be when leaving the house. This year Addie decided to be a unicorn for both her school party and for walking around the neighborhood. Hudson wasn't feeling good at all and didn't want to get into any costume but did wear his Pilot jacket so he still looked great. Plus there's no one who would deny a little two year old boy just because he wasn't in an obvious costume and if there were someone than that person obviously has deeper issues. It turns out that Hudson broke out in a fever and had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. We felt terrible for him once we figured out what was wrong with him and would have definitely kept him home had we known. Grant went dressed as Jack Jack from the Incredibles because he doesn't really care and he actually likes wearing it. Danny and I went as Mr and Mrs Incredible as we walked around with our kids and received a lot of positive comments about our costumes.
First school party
Tradition
The first house was to our favorite neighbor Debby Swan and Grant was terrified of their giant dog. After that he was pretty content only being held and avoided knocking on doors until he knew there wasn't any surprise animals waiting for him.
I love this day and I'm already looking forward to next year. Like I mentioned in a previous post we already have our themed figured out, however I will try my best to be patient and not buy all the costumes already. Let's face it, we know I'll at least buy one before the end of January. ☺️
The hint for next year? You gotta catch em all.
