Independence Day!

It's our second Independence Day here in our home in Provo and it was a lot better than last year since we knew what to expect this time around. We started out the morning in Mapleton because Dave bought a bunch of rocks that had fossils in it for the kids to all dig out. I mostly entertained Grant while the kids did the rocks with Danny until it was time to go but the kids really enjoyed themselves. Addie also decided that she wanted to learn how to ride a bike (with training wheels) and she did so good. She might be ready for one of her own here soon.
We headed back home around lunch time because of how busy it can get where we live. It gets crazy crowded around here because we're so close to the BYU football stadium which hosts the Stadium of Fire concert every year. This year the performer was Keith Urban who I actually liked so that was a cool thing. Our backyard gives us the perfect spot for a free concert every fourth of July. Our next door neighbors also go all out on the 4th of July and they invited us over to enjoy part of their festivities. The kids LOVED playing with their water balloons and had so much fun.
He was so ready for his nap after this hot afternoon.
And of course the mandatory sibling holiday picture. I was going to just share one but I loved them all and couldn't choose between them. Even the outtakes. :) I love the fourth of July and had to get them holiday outfits. Grant is actually wearing the onesie that Hudson wore on his first independence day.
This year we had Danny's mom, my cousin Allen and his family, and Jaina and her in-laws. It was a good evening. We had a lot of food and a lot of fun. Also every one of our three kids loved the fireworks this year. We were curious about which one would because Hudson was not a fan last year and Addie hadn't been a fan before that so we figured that maybe Grant would follow their pattern but we were wrong. All three enjoyed the fireworks. We did prepare ourselves and bought all three kids their own headsets to use which I think helped. I love the 4th of July and believe I always will.
