GOAL!!!

Addie scored!!! She scored for the first time and it couldn't have been a better experience. It was the kind of game winning score that every athlete dreams of. They were playing a super hard team that beat them last season 3-0. At the half it was 2-0. Addie's team came back that second half and fought so hard. They caught up and tied the game 2-2 with just seconds left in the game. There was a corner kick passed to Addie who was in the center. She got it and kicked the ball so hard. It went over the goalie's head and into the net winning the game for her team. It was so awesome to watch. The whistle blew right after before any further plays could even be made so she literally did score with seconds left in the game. It was amazing. This is her second season playing with this team and she's never been a super competitive player. In fact sometimes we wonder if her favorite place is on the bench because the only time she runs fast is when she's running off the field to go sit back down. She's a little scared of the ball  during game time so anytime she even touches it during the game we're thrilled. Never did we imagine this moment and neither did she. Her reaction was my favorite part. She started jumping up and down. After she told me that her first thoughts were "did I really just do that??" haha what a cutie. She was so excited. Unfortunately since it was a Thursday game Danny wasn't there for the moment which he was really sad about. I really wish he could have been there. It was the last game of the season and it was an amazing finish to it. She still has another week of some soccer playing though as her team is going to be playing in a two day soccer tournament next weekend for the first time. All the girls are pretty excited about that. Addie is also glad to keep playing because she now has a fire that was lit within her and she wants to keep getting better. I guess we'll be continuing soccer after this season after all. There were times we asked Addie if she even liked it and if she wanted to try something else. She's more excited about the sport now than she's ever been. It's late now and I didn't even get any pictures of the game (that's so unlike me) but I did want to sit down and document this moment while I have a free minute or two. I can say this a hundred times, it was a really fun game to watch.
