Provost Spring Festival

According to all three of the older kids today was the best day ever. Addie's school threw a festival as a fund raiser today for three hours and we stayed for nearly all of it. They had a bounce obstacle course, petting zoo, sports center and so many games. We didn't even get to all of it. They had a rocket launcher area, lots of carnival style games, face painting, balloon makers (is that the word for it?), hair stylists and a silent auction. Those are all just some of the things we didn't get to. The kids were obsessed with the bouncy obstacle course and spent close to two hours on that alone. Addie also really loved the petting zoo. She was able to see a lot of her school friends and really enjoyed it when I gave her some freedom to roam around with one of her best friend's Bella.

We used our festival tickets to choose food for our dinner. The kids all had two tickets each which meant they could pick two different menu items. The boys both picked nachos and Addie opted for pizza. All three of them chose a snow cone as well. I grabbed some pizza for the twins and the same thing for Danny and I. We all ate underneath a tree with our outdoor blanket. It was really nice to just have this time together. I realized as I was watching Rylee and Quinn with their pizza slices that I've now reached the part of parenthood where I'm less strict about always making sure they're not messy and stay clean.

After our 'dinner' the kids all wanted to go back on the obstacle course so we did that for the rest of the time. Leaving was free of tantrums because we told the kids if we had enough time we could start the third Harry Potter movie. The kids have been begging to start that and we've been saying no but tonight was apparently the night. We walked home, got ready for bed, made some popcorn since dinner didn't exactly fill anyone up and then all gathered to watch the first part of the movie together. It felt like like the perfect day.
